APPLICATION OF GLOBAL OPTIMIZATION TO PREDICT STRAINS IN RC COMPRESSED COLUMNS

In this paper, the results of an application global and local optimization methods to solve a problem determination strains in RC compressed structure members are presented. Solutions appropriate sets nonlinear equations presence box constraints have be found. The use least squares method leads finding solutions problems with constraints. Numerical examples illustrate effects loading value eccentricity on concrete reinforcing steel cross-section.Three different minimization were applied compute them: trust region reflective, genetic algorithm tailored real double variables particle swarm method. practical data some cases, several Their existence has been detected by search multistart, while failed recognize their presence.
